FAQs on costs, booking, and cancellations

  • Prices start from £275 for private events and £300 for weddings. These include, as standard, two custom song requests, a professional sound system, and a consultation call.

  • To book, please contact me so we can discuss your event options and confirm my availability for your desired date. To secure your date, I’ll require:

    • A signed contract

    • A non-refundable £100 deposit (which will be deducted from your final fee)

Then, about 2-3 months before your wedding, we’ll schedule a consultation call to go over all the details and make sure everything’s perfect. Of course, if you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to get in touch - I’m always here to help!

  • Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellation fees may apply if cancelling close to the event date (the timeline is all laid out in the contract), but I always try to be far and treat each case individually.

  • To confirm a booking, I require a signed contract and £100 deposit. The contract is there to protect both of us - it covers the key details like set-up needs, access, and what happens in case of cancellation. The remaining balance is due four weeks before your event, but if you’d like to set up a payment plan, this is an option we can discuss.

  • A £100 deposit is required to secure your date and confirm your booking.

  • Travel costs don’t apply to venues within 20 miles from BA1. Travel costs after the first 20 miles are calculated at 45p per mile. For events more than two and a half hours away or finishing late at night, accommodation may be needed.

  • The earlier, the better, especially for peak dates (Saturdays between May - September). I sometimes get booked up to two years in advance. But, I also take bookings with just a few weeks’s notice, so it’s always worth asking!

  • In the rare case I can’t perform due to illness or emergency, you will get a full refund of any payments made. While I can’t guarantee availability, I’ll do everything I can to find a stand-in from my network of trusted musicians.

  • Let’s check! Drop me a message with your date and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

FAQs on practical and technical stuff

  • Most private events are two x 45-minute sets over two hours. However, I can extend for longer bookings, especially weddings where I am covering several parts of your day.

  • A minimum of 2 metres x 2 metres is perfect - just enough room for me, my gear, and maybe a little impromptu boogie.

  • I’m fully self-contained with professional gear. All I need is a power socket within reach of the performance space.

    My equipment includes:

    • 1 x Yamaha Stagepas 1k (1000W). This is the main PA system I use.

    • 2 x Yamaha Stagepas 200 (180W each) - I might use these individually for smaller events. One of them is battery operated, so is perfect for outdoor ceremonies with no access to power. As I have two, I can also pair them for extra power.

For wedding package bookings that involve moving between spaces, I offer a dual speaker setup to ensure a smooth(er) transition between rooms without too much interruption to the music.

I also bring my trusty Martin guitar, Shure SM58 microphone, and backups of nearly everything... plus backups for backups.

  • I need about 30 minutes to set up. However, I usually arrive at least an hour in advance to ensure I have ample time to get familiar with the venue.

  • Yes, I have full public liability insurance and my equipment is PAT tested yearly. I can send copies of certificates upon request.

  • Absolutely (and I'm a sucker for it!) However, I do need to be protected from potential rain and have a flat, stable surface for my equipment. If there's no power available, I can bring along a battery-powered PA system.

FAQs on songs and setlists

  • Absolutely! There are three ways we can approach the song selection, depending on what feels right for you:

    • You pick your absolute favourites

From there, I’ll take care of the rest. I’ll tailor my set to match your preferred style while still leaving room for me to read the room and pick songs on the spot based on the vibe. My years of experience help me know what works in the moment!

    • Some guidance, but flexibility

If you’d prefer to give me a little direction rather than specific song requests, you can highlight a few artists or genres you love. I’ll use those to guide the set, but you’ll still get my expertise to fill in the gaps, ensuring the overall vibe is perfect.

    • Full control

You can choose all the songs for the event! I’ll follow your selections and create a perfect flow for the day based on your choices. For your ceremony, music would be completely bespoke, tailored to whatever makes that moment feel just right for you!

I also offer an ‘Acoustic Jukebox’ add-on service. Your guests can request songs from a curated list throughout your event, so everyone can get involved! More info on this can be found on my wedding packages page.

  • Absolutely! I’m happy to learn up to two new songs for your event at no extra charge, as long as I get at least 30 days’ notice. Now, while I’ve never had to turn down a song request yet, there may be the occasional tune that just doesn’t work for my voice or doesn’t quite translate well to acoustic guitar. But don’t worry, I’ll always give it my best shot! If you’d like to request more than two songs, there’s a £30 fee to cover rehearsal time.

  • I can and often do take live requests, but I’m not always in a position to fulfill them if I don't already know the song! I also offer an ‘Acoustic Jukebox’ add-on, where guests can pick songs from a curated list during the event. More details on this can be found here. (Plus, with the jukebox, at least I’m not trying to hear someone shouting their request from across the room!)

  • Always! I’ll play background music from a Spotify playlist by default between my sets and 20 minutes before and after my performance, if needed. If you have your own Spotify playlist you’d like me to use, feel free to share it with me! If you’d like music to play through my speakers for a longer period, I can provide it for £80 per hour.

Other FAQs

  • I’m based in Bath and regularly travel across the South West, South Wales, and beyond for weddings and events. Travel within a 20-mile radius of BA1 is on me - for anything further, I charge 45p per mile for the extra distance.

If you're booking me for just one part of the day (like your drinks reception only, or a couple of hours at a private event) I usually travel up to 2 hours each way. For wedding packages that cover more of your day, I’m happy to go further! I might just need overnight accommodation if it’s a long journey, or if the timing means a late finish or early start.

I'm also happy to perform at destination weddings! If you’re planning a wedding abroad and would love live music as part of your day, I’d be happy to discuss the details and put together a bespoke package.

If you’re unsure whether your location is within my travel range, get in touch and we can work out the details!

  • I’ll always ask ahead of time if there’s a dress code and if so will aim to blend in and dress the part! If not, I’ll go for something smart and event-appropriate - stylish but relaxed.

  • I’m very easy-going when it comes to food and drink! A soft drink (water, really) and sometimes a coffee if it's available is all I need to keep going. And while I don’t require a meal, it’s always appreciated if I’m performing for an extended period of time.

  • More than happy! Planners are the unsung heroes of a smooth running day, and it’s great having a go-to person on the day if anything crops up. If you're still looking for a day-of coordinator, I know a few lovely humans I’ve worked with who are brilliant at what they do - happy to share my recommendations!

  • I update my public gigs monthly on my Instagram. However, it’s best to get in touch and check with me, as I play a variety of types of events, ranging from lively parties to more relaxed settings.

  • I’ve been performing full-time since 2018, averaging around 150 gigs per year for a wide variety of types of events. That experience is invaluable. It means I’ve honed a huge amount of material that has been tried and tested, and I know how to read a room and adapt quickly.
